Irish Golf Open Venue
The Irish Golf Open venue has changed from course to course around Ireland in recent years, but in 2007 and 2008 it was staged at Adare Manor as it maybe staged there again in 2009.
There will be over 60,000 people attending the Irish Golf Open this year. The Adare Championship course is set amongst the most beautiful wooded setting that you could ever see. It is set by the River Maigue and whats sets it apart from everywhere else is the thatched cottages which line its streets.
The 2009 Irish Open Golf Tournament will hope to see, once again, an Irishman lift the trophy. It happened in 2007 and provided great excitement for the Irish crowd who witnessed a genuine Irish hero Padraig Harrington win the tournament. There will be the usual number of home players taking their place in the event, but the Tournament also attracts many big names form the world of golf and will be a fierce competition.
Adare Manor Course Changes
Since 2007 the Adare manor course has gone through a few changes which have cost over a half a million euros. The most important difference that the players will discover is that the course has been lengenthened by about 300 yards and the total distance will now be 7,453 yards. In addition the bunkers have been relined and the practice facilities have been upgraded.
